5G and health
Ongoing activity – The House of Representatives sent a request for advice to the Health Council to issue advice on possible health risks in relation to 5G based on current scientific insights.
The influence of electromagnetic fields and radiation on health is of great interest, among other things due to the advance of mobile telephony and other forms of wireless telecommunication. Now that the 5G network is coming, there are increasing concerns from society about its possible impact on health. The standing Committee on Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) will – in addition to its previous publications and opinions – provide an overview and assessment of the (inter) national studies that have been carried out in this field and will also consider the extent to which the current standards of protection of public health are based on the current state of science.
The advice is expected in early September.
