Belgian law blocks use of fitness apps by insurers

Insurance companies may not use personal data collected from fitness apps such as Fitbit or Runkeeper, according to a law approved by the Belgian parliament. Furthermore, they may not condition premiums or coverage on a customer’s use of such apps, reports Computable.
